AUSTIN, Texas -- With forecasts of Hurricane Ike calling for severe weather throughout much of the state and in Austin this weekend, Texas' football game with Arkansas, scheduled for this Saturday at Darrell K Royal-Texas
Memorial Stadium, has been postponed.

All original game tickets purchased for the game will be honored on the rescheduled date.

"We have been monitoring this situation since Sunday and, at this time, feel confident this is the right thing to do," Longhorn Men's Athletics Director DeLoss Dodds said. "A football game becomes less important when you are dealing with the safety of the people of Texas."

Fortunately for the Longhorns and Razorbacks, the schools shared a bye-week on Saturday, Sept. 27th. The game has been rescheduled for that Saturday at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Kickoff time and television will be announced at a later date.

All original tickets purchased for the game will be honored on the rescheduled date. High school coaches who had previously signed up for tickets to the game will be honored as well.
